I've heard about this invasion in Movie Theaters all around the country on TV. this is one of the news reports I found to show it is happening for those in doubt (below):

Talking to the Exterminator that had been here before we even moved into our new home in November, Bedbugs have been found rampant in Apartment... "you spray one apartment and they run across the way to the next apartment... and so it continues with a back and forth". He also said Exterminators said they've been found in theaters, judges chambers, health clubs, stores, and movie theaters at this point in time.

My research online I've now found out how they travel: on clothing, in purses, gymbags, and in peoples pockets as they are hitchhikers. They hitchhike and where ever they are, they will crawl out onto the floor, office desks, and especially (with 2 hours in one place) in Movie Theaters, during plays etc... Basically people dealing with infestations go walking around with them where ever they go, shopping, eating, on the bus you name it... this is how they are spread.
